Well, it occurred to me that others may be interested in the things we do, but also I thought it would be good to keep a record of outings, events, new things- and the everyday stuff that is not special in anyway but is the ‘bread and butter’ of a childminding setting.
As the title suggests – the blog my not be daily as sometimes time will be against me – and sometimes it will not be appropriate to write about our day.
From a personal point of view I have often wished that I had kept a record of the funny things children say and do within my setting – and it has to be said the things that set me reflecting on why things have not gone as well as I had hoped – and – dare I say it – the things that have to change before the children and myself loose the ‘plot’ about what we are doing and why we are doing it.
I will be using the children’s first names, as I think it makes for easier reading and more realistic that initials or Child A, Child B, which of course means that parents of the children, my family, friends and childminding colleagues will be able to identify the children – but the information provided will not put the children at any risk of harm as other than first names, age and the fact that they attend my setting – no other personal details will be given.
I hope you enjoy reading about events at Penny’s Place
